Meet Wilson
Welcome to our first Sleepstack interview, where we meet the inspiration behind www.sleepranking.com,
.When I started Sleepstack, I wasn’t sure anyone would read it and perhaps I was the only person interested sleep.
But after a few weeks, I started receiving sleep times from Wilson, who I’ve never met, but I’m excited to following his journey because he’s learned the power of great sleep at a young age.
Something I wish I did and think his future is bright.
So without further ado, meet Wilson!
Who are you? Where are you from and what do you do?
Hey! I'm Wilson, born/raised in Singapore currently a senior studying Computer Science at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
How much do you sleep?
Try to minimum get 7 hours a night.
Why are you interested in sleep?
We spend 1/3 our lives sleeping, why not try and optimise it?
Why did you build sleepranking.com?
Trying to improve my web development skills, I thought this would be the perfect project to carry out.
How’d you come up with the idea?
To be honest, I saw what you were doing with the Sleepstack and wanted to see if I could use my technical skills to simplify the process.
What do you use to track your sleep?
I use an Oura Ring.
What have you learned from tracking your sleep?
My sleep is drastically worse at night when I drink alcohol, and an early bedtime is better for me.
Tell us about the best and worst night’s sleep you’ve ever had?
Worst - Can't remember honestly. I try not to hold on to the bad nights too much.
Best - After completing a full day/night navigation exercise in the Singapore Army, fell asleep within 10 seconds.
Finally, to help someone in our community who’s struggling to sleep well, what’s your top tip?
This was a personal change but going from a soft to a firm memory foam was night/day for me.
Thanks Wilson!
One question the good sleep answer of the navigation exercise is it nothing but walking through day and night by maps or some navigation means... Isn't it
